After receiving an offer, there are typically three different scenarios.
You accept the offer presented and your house is now sold.
You counter offer with changes (usually to price, conditions, move in date, etc) and the buyer can accept, counter or walk away from the deal.
You reject the deal, where you are flat out saying no. This does not usually happen and the potential buyers can enter another offer, only if they choose to.
