“The LeRoy Warden & Associates Scholarship has given me an opportunity to pursue my passion and dreams of attending the University of Alberta’s Neuroscience Program! I am overwhelmed by the kindness and care that Mr. Warden and the Edmonton Public School board have shown me. I am gracious to receive a scholarship that celebrates my dedication to my community over the years. I hope through my future career I can give back all the kindness I’ve received.

To the future applicants of this scholarship I share one piece of advice: always follow your dreams no matter how big or small. Throughout your journey, there will be times when you may doubt your capabilities. During these difficult times, I encourage you to leap toward goals that seem unachievable. You may surprise yourself with what you can accomplish. Betting on yourself will lead you closer to your dreams and aspirations. Although it may not always seem like you are up for the challenge, you must believe in yourself. Trust that your dedication and hard work are valuable. Continue to strive for your dreams. If you happen to fail, pick yourself up and try again! Failure is just a lesson that helps you find success. To keep yourself motivated, be surrounded by loved ones that cheer you on. And never shy away from any help to achieve your dreams. There will be many ups and downs during your purist but if you are persistent and try your best you will be successful. So, when applying for scholarships, universities or jobs keep in mind that you are full of potential and that nothing is ever impossible!

I never imagined that I would be granted the LeRoy Warden Scholarship and even considered not submitting my application. However, I kept in mind that even my biggest dreams are achievable as long as I try my best. From this achievement and the support of my family and Mr. Warden, I can continue to pursue my aspirations.
