“I am beyond grateful to be the recipient of the 2021 LeRoy Warden & Associates Scholarship. I am excited to soon attend the University of Alberta as a physiology student, and I am eager to continue to pursue my dream of working in research or healthcare. 

I advise you to apply for the LeRoy Warden & Associates Scholarship, and to express your genuine self throughout the process. I advise future applicants to surround yourself with people who will continue to motivate you to pursue your goals and dreams, and who will celebrate your efforts and accomplishments. During the application process, I often found myself feeling anxious and doubting my capabilities, but I was able to ground myself by seeking support from my incredible family, friends, and mentors. Through them, I was able to remind myself to take a step back and to be grateful for the help I’ve received, and to be proud of my progress in spite of many setbacks and challenges. Be unafraid in sharing your story! 

I hope that one day, I will be able to help students who may face challenges like my own to achieve their goals just as you have helped me.
