Questions to ask about, when choosing a new home


You will want to ask questions to get a feel of the facility. Are other residents happy and friendly? Is the atmosphere energetic or quiet? Ask for brochures to help you compare. Here is our suggested list of questions.

☐ What are the living quarters options (ex. 1 bed, 2 bed, studio) and floor plans?
☐ Are there in-suite available appliances?
☐ Is there a balcony in suite?
☐ What are the care levels & health services available (24 hour care, if needed?)?
☐ What are the services, programs, activities and amenities?
☐ Is there onsite banking?
☐ What are the meal and snack services (Any special diet concerns)?
☐ Are there laundry facilities or in-suite laundry?
☐ Are pets allowed?
☐ What are the estimated costs?
☐ What utilities are included in the costs?
☐ Is there street parking, underground parking and access to public transportation?
☐ Is there guest parking?
☐ May I get referrals?
